New innovation to market in 2022
In the spring of 2022, we first spoke publicly about the new iLOQ HOME app and began to provide related training to our sales personnel as well as our distributor network. Intensive testing continued into early summer, when we were finally confident about releasing version 1.0 to the first residential users. In the background, development of new features continued to forge on at a steady pace.
During the second half of the year, the first 10,000 users were taken on across Sweden, Finland and Central Europe. We have been actively following the feedback coming from these early adopters, and implementing them into the new, more modular iLOQ HOME 2.0. The understanding we are gaining from actual user experience is proving extremely valuable, and we look forward to future updates, which we believe will go further in turning our vision of future digital access management into reality.
Bringing the user experience to the forefront
The first iLOQ HOME users were given access to the application’s different features. The app allows you to monitor, restrict and grant access to keys to your home as well as to provide remote or time-restricted access to the building front door for third parties. The iLOQ HOME app can also be used to make laundry room, sauna or gym reservations within the building or complex.
By adopting an open approach to software development and cooperative attitude towards the many vendors involved in making modern smart living possible, we believe that this solution can act as the basis of truly improving the living experience in all multi-family homes. Future software updates will continue to be more modular in nature, bringing users the possibility to truly build a personalized digital living experience with the functionalities they want. The user experience is at the core of this solution, so development at that front must stay active throughout the feature development process, and beyond.
Commitment to continuous development
iLOQ HOME was first brought out to MFH customers in Northern and Central Europe. We have seen that both the customers and our partners may not all have been prepared for such a big overnight technological leap from the old lock and key. Obviously, the younger segment of users, especially those in student housing have welcomed these new digital functionalities with open arms. We are also looking West with high hopes, as we know that the North American market is much more mature in terms of smart living integrations as a part of building systems. Our software development continues to go hand-in-hand with our market entry plans in North America.
Perhaps one of the strongest signals that communicates iLOQ’s commitment to transforming from simple digital access management to a more holistic smart living experience enabler was the acquisition of Kodinportti, a Finnish IT solution for residential buildings. The company’s technologies, which include digital touchscreen bulletin boards with up-to-date tenant information as well as communal space reservation functionalities, will be integrated into iLOQ’s offering to further strengthen the capabilities of the iLOQ HOME digital service.
This is just the beginning
As iLOQ continues not only to dream about, but also work towards a life made limitless, we will continue to place emphasis on open interaction, partnership and cooperation. As digitalization continues to grow in presence and importance across the board, we want to position ourselves at the heart of tomorrow’s future-proof ecosystems. With iLOQ HOME, we are building a platform designed to adapt to the needs, desires and expectations of individual markets and users.
